Songdo Beach
An 800-metre urban beach with a long history as one of Korea’s early public beaches.
The story
Why this place matters
Songdo opened as a public beach in 1913 and remains one of the historic foundations of seaside leisure in Busan. A major restoration in the 2000s renewed the 800-metre beach and added promenades and visitor facilities.
Its position west of Nampo makes Songdo a practical alternative to crossing the city for Haeundae. The surrounding coast also connects to Amnam Park and views across the harbour toward Yeongdo.
Fit it into your trip
Choose Songdo when your day is already focused on Nampo, Jagalchi or western Busan. It gives a short trip a beach element without committing to the longer transfer to the eastern coast.
